Ms. Carolyn Ann Wood (a.k.a. Tee Carolyn) was born to the late Anderson Lee Wood and Willie Mae Wood on June 23, 1951. Carolyn was educated in the Birmingham Public School System and was a 1969 graduate of Western Olin High School.
Carolyn confessed Christ an early age, and united with First Baptist Church West End, Eureka Community, in 1963. The family moved to Ensley, Alabama, and she united with 23rd St. Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Cecil J. McNear.
She was a faithful and committed servant. She received teaching with Club Rachael under the leadership of Mrs. Inez Watts. She had the gift of an usher as she served on the #3 Usher Board. She worked with the Peace Baptist Matrons for many years. She held the office of treasurer and was a dedicated Sunday School member. In 2001, Carolyn joined True Love Church under the leadership of Rev. Eddie J. White.
Carolyn continued to serve as the first president of the matrons for several years. She was a faithful leader of the Hearts of Love, Sunday School teacher, and served on the Ushers' Ministry.Carolyn answered the call of our Lord on October 27, 2018 at University of Alabama (UAB) Hospital. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, and brother.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted son Raphael Rashad Wood, four grandchildren: Demond, Jamiah, Keyland and Khaleel, a loving mother: Willie Mae Wood, four sisters: Dartha Rasul, Sharon Wood, Mary Crochen, of Birmingham, Alabama, Angela (Kenneth) Boone of Suffolk, Virginia, aunts: Pearlie (Lee) Poole, Mary Lois of Notasulga, Alabama, Inez Webb of Atlanta, Georgia, Liza Wood of Apopka, Florida, Uncle: Jimmy (Helen) McFarland of Montgomery, Alabama, special sister/friennd: Minister Diane Davis, special friends: Angela Archie, Florice Carlton, Lucinda Coates, Ophelia Collins, Veronica Grant, Velma Portis, Louise Russell, Carolyn Sheppard, her True Love Church family, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
