Charlotte Marie Price was born to the late Charles and Mary Lewis Price on April 25, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama. Charlotte attended school in Birmingham and later migrated with her mother to Queens, N.Y. where she completed her education. Charlotte joined the church and was baptized at an early age. Later in life, she moved back to Alabama and joined Pilgrim Baptist Church in Lanett, AL, she finally settled in, her place of birth, Birmingham Alabama, she joined Bethel Baptist Church of Collegeville and was a faithful servant there until she was called home. She met Tommie Horn and gave birth to her first daughter Serena Marie James, she then met and married the late William Harold Thompson and from that union, her second daughter was born, Yolanda Sherice Roberts. Charlotte loved to sing, cook, party, play cards, and talk. She was a member of the Order of The Eastern Stars, Friendly Sisters Chapter #26 in Birmingham, AL. Charlotte wore various hats when it came to Professions, she was a Cosmetologist, a Nurse’s Aide, and a Police Dispatcher. Most of all, Charlotte loved her children and grandchildren. She devoted the later part of her life to caring for several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlotte made her transition on Tuesday October 17, 2017.
Her memory will be cherished by her two daughters: Serena James & Yolanda Roberts; eight grandchildren: Nothrice Thompson, Terrance (Sabrina) Gibson, Shalissiya (TaShawn) Deale, Quanisha Gibson, Zipporah Cheeks, Tralanda Reed, Timothy Bailey, and Chardonnay Cheek; twelve great-grandchildren: Noélanni, Noriah, Noleí, Daniel, Darriyon, Senise, Sari, Saniah, Destiny, Z’nylah, Syncere’, Serenity. Son-In-Law: Phillip Roberts; Sister: Deborah (Derrick) Baxter Brother: Joseph Diop; and a host of family and friends.
