Cornell Pyett, Sr

Mr. Cornell Pyett, Sr. was born on January 13, 1938 to Jonah & Annie Mae Pyett, in Birmingham, AL.     

He was married to Erma Pyett for 51 years and from this union two sons were born, Cornell Pyett, Jr. and Alonzo Pyett. His sons took great care of him during his time of sickness.

Cornell was educated at Westfield High School and later joined the United States Army. He worked at Kyser Hospital in California where he resided for a number of years before returning back to Alabama. He also worked at the Steel Mill and attended night classes at USC School of Architecture.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma Pyett; and siblings, Jonas Pyett, Agnes Pyett, Charles Pyett, Samuel Pyett, Edna Pyett and Irene Pyett. 

Cornell Pyett, Sr. leaves to cherish: son, Alonzo Pyett; four great grandchildren, Quandarius Moten, Nikita Pyett, Denisha Pyett and Darius Pyett; seven great-great Grandchildren, Nyah Greene, Amiyah Pugh, Dariyah Robinson, Roderick Stitt, Kamora Robinson, Kamron Robinson and Jayden Mayes; and a host of other family members from both the Pyett and Boston side.
