Donna La’Shell Green was born to Deborah and Alex Green on January 19, 1971 and departed this life on May 19, 2018. She accepted Christ at an early age at Central Park Church of God, where she was a Prayer Warrior and Saint of the Kitchen.
Donna graduated from Wenonah High School and went on to pursue a job as a cook, working along the way at the American Legion, Burger King, Grandview Mt. Royal and Marks Brothers. She was recently preparing to become a chef and was accepted into Virginia College, School of Culinary Arts.
Donna never met a stranger and would give the shirt off her back if you asked for it. She would also tell you “Don’t play” and “You funny as hell”, in a heartbeat. When she was feeling good and turning up, she would always ask the question, “Do you hear the music?” If you didn’t, you sure were going to hear it. She would turn the music up until it shook the walls because somebody was going to twerk that night. That was Donna Green.
Donna is survived by her significant other, Johnnie Evans; son, Xaiver; daughter, Angel; grandbaby, Ja Nai’; niece, Miracle Green; and brother, Alex Green (Larry). She leaves to mourn: aunts, Janis of Virginia, Bernadette “Bunchie” Davis (Walter); uncles, Larry Fisher of Cleveland, Ohio, John Green of Columbia, South Carolina, Harvey Green (Pearlee) of Columbia, South Carolina; cousins, Yvonne and Shameeka; a host of other family members and friends.
