Lomie Dial Obituary

Mr. Lomie Andrew Dial, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and an all around family member loved by all who knew him.  He was one of God’s greatest creations.  He was a very unique person.

He was the third child born to the late Pete and Rosie Lee Dial in Birmingham, AL on June 02, 1951.  He was a very curious child, always checking everything out and how it worked.  At an early age, he joined Millers Memorial Presbyterian Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Terrell.

He was educated in Birmingham, AL where he attended the Birmingham Public Schools.  His first school was Carrie A. Tuggle Elementary.  His secondary education was at A.H. Parker High School and he graduated with the class of 1969.  He joined the United States Air Force where he served graciously.  After the Air Force, he became a student at Alabama State College in Montgomery, AL.  His major was music.  He put his music to great use.  He played with several bands in Birmingham, AL as a drummer.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Genola Dial Grayson, and his grandson, Master Christopher Perkins, Jr.

He was married to the late Marsha Cole and to this union a child was born, LeSean DeShay Clora Dial.

He was self-employed.  Lomie could do just about any and everything.  He considered himself a master at most of his projects.  His family depended upon him for so many things and he tried to complywith all of their needs and wants.

On the 29th of March, 2019, God saw Lomie was tired and knew he needed rest; therefore, He called him home.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  wife, Rev. Loretta Dial; a devoted daughter, Minister LeSean Dial-Ameyme; five stepchildren, Ronricus, Bryan, William, Star and Devin; four grandchildren, Ms. Jada Perkins, Mr. Jaden Perkins, Amyrah Ameyme, and Yamani Ameyme; a great granddaughter, Khloe Perkins; one sister, Mrs. Donnie Dial Burke (Wiliam); niece, Ms. Genole Rose Burke; nephew, Mr. RoDonnie Ledrew Grayson (Shirley); a very special friend, Ms. MaryCrockett; a host of cousins and numerous friends.
