Mrs. Pearl Mae Prentice Edwards Spencer, affectionately known as Pearlie, was born to Frank and Mary Prentice on January 15, 1912. Pearlie confessed Christ at an early age, and toiled in the vineyard for many years. She worked as a Budds of Promise Director, a Sunday School Teacher, a Missionary, a Class Leader and served on the Steward Board at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church.
Mrs. Spencer is a graduate of Parker High School, formally know as Industrial High School. She worked from home as a seamstress for many years in the Ensley Community.
Mrs. Spencer was married to Cleveland Edwards. To this union was born Constance Edwards Jackson, their only child. Both of them proceeded her in death. She was also briefly married to Sidney Spencer who also preceded her in death, as well as all of her siblings.
Mrs. Spencer leaves to mourn one granddaughter, Deirdre Sims(Emmanuel); five great-grandchildren, Constance Vonner (Brandon), Christie Thomas, Cory Jackson, Alexis Fann (Tevin), and Alyssa Sims; seventeen great-great grandchildren; one God Daughter, LaFaree Lilly; one nephew Samuel Gaynor(Georgia), two nieces Juliette Davis, and Florence O’Dell and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
