Booker Ephraim Obituary

Booker T. Ephraim was born June 29, 1951 in Fairfield, Alabama to the late Johnnie Bell, Sr. and Luvell Foster Ephraim.

Book was educated at Rosa Zimmerman Elementary School and Westfield High School. Later on, Book worked as a construction worker for Larry Scott and he also worked at his T-shirt shop in Birmingham, Alabama.

Larry and Book had a very close relationship, which was more like brothers than boss and worker until the passing of Larry.

Book confessed Christ at an early age at New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend M. J. Smith. He re-dedicated his life to Christ at the age of sixty-one and was a member of Now Faith Church International under the leadership of Elder Leroy Boswell, Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Bell, Sr. and Luvell Foster Ephraim; brothers, Johnnie Bell Ephraim, Jr. and Henry Ephraim; a sister, Willie Sophia Ephraim; grandparents, Lillie Ball Hinton, Willie Ephraim, Booker T. Foster, Mabel Foster, Dock Ephraim and Martha Ephraim.

Book leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter, April (Carton) Brown of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters, Betty E. Hines of Bessemer, Alabama, Estella Ephraim of Birmingham, Alabama and Rose (Key) Edwards of McCall, Alabama; brothers, Minister Gary (Glenda) Ephraim, Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama, Terry Ephraim of Hueytown, Alabama, Dana (Pam) of Talladega, Alabama and Minister Dock (Alethia) Ephraim of Charleston, South Carolina; grandsons, Deondre, Demote, Devonte and Delonte Brown of Birmingham, Alabama; a very special niece, Patrice (Reverend Dr. Dokk Elle) Seawright of Austell, Georgia; great aunt, Ruby Washington; uncle, Isaac (Debra) Ephraim; uncle, Eddie Boswell; aunts, Geraldine (Ricardo) Pittman, Lauren Brown, Cathrene Hudson and Flora Ephraim; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Daughter’s Love

My love for my father will always be

No matter how long we don’t see each other

It was always love that kept us when we were together

Tough love was how you loved me

Caring for you was easy

No matter what, I will always love
