Clark “Maine” Edmonds was born to the union of James F. Edmond and Mary Phillips Edmond on January 6, 1966 in Birmingham, Alabama. He accepted Christ into his heart at an early age and attended Community Primitive Baptist Church, where he was a member of the choir and usher board. He was educated in the Birmingham City School System and graduated from West End High School in 1984. Clark had a zest for life, a love of family and a gift for making people laugh.
Clark was skilled in many areas. With gifted hands he worked in automotive repair, construction, and barbering. However, his passion was culinary arts. Whether day or night, rain or shine he was always ready to get in that grill. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids. They affectionally called him “Ole Granddaddy”.
Clark was preceded in death by his parents; James and Mary Edmond, by his son; Ryan Caldwell, and by his sister; Janet Hendon. He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter; Alexis Caldwell; grandchildren; Aniyah and Carson Caldwell, his siblings; Ernest Phillips (Minnie), Kenneth Edmond, Janie Maye, Judy (Willie Lee) Porter, James (Veronica) Cargill, Laquita Pierce, Fred Cargill, Debra Owens, Yolanda Jordan and Carolyn Armstrong all of Birmingham, AL and LaShonda Cargill of Douglasville, GA; his favorite cousin Diane Miles and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and all of those he chose as family.
