Gloria Jean (Mitchell) Coleman was born to the late Mr. Eugene Mitchell and Katie McGuire Mitchell on September 15, 1951 in Birmingham, Alabama. Gloria was Baptized at an early age at Bryant Chapel AME Church and continued to embody the love of God throughout her life. Gloria was loved by all, her sweet demeanor and glowing smile lit up every room she entered. She will forever be known for her love of family and gentle spirit. She was proceeded in death by her loving sister Mildred Mitchell Bearden and adoring brother Jimmy Mitchell with whom she has joined in Heaven.
Gloria was a graduate of Wenonah High School and she also attended Lawson State Community College. While at Lawson State she studied cosmetology and art. Gloria worked for Cooks Publication as a printing press operator and was quickly made into a Team Lead. After Retiring from Cooks Gloria worked in the retail industry for many years where she was always given high marks for her smile and great customer service. Gloria was loved by all who knew her.
Gone from us to soon , loving memories will be cherished by her sons Michael ( Adrilisa) Mitchell and Calvin Mitchell; a devoted sister Rebecca Mitchell; four big brothers David Mitchell Sr, Albert ( Linda) Mitchell, John ( Patricia) Mitchell, Otis Mitchell Sr; five grandchildren Reagan 12, Calvin 15, Leah 4 , Adam 25 , Amanda 28; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved and adored Gloria-Jean.
