Hattie Mae (Turner) Floyd

Hattie Mae Floyd, was born on September 23, 1944, to Hayzen and Lucinda Turner in Birmingham, AL. She accepted Christ at an early age.  She attended the Tower Christian Church where she was a member until her health began to fail her.  She attended Birmingham City School System where she graduated in the first class of carver high school 1962.

Hattie had a compassion for helping people and used it along the way in her career as nurse. She worked as a nurse at Montclair which later became Trinity where she worked for 29 years until she retired in 2005.

Hattie had a very outgoing personality, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had a different relationship with each of her kids, she showed us that love overcomes all obstacles. She was our biggest cheerleader and supporter. She also had a nurturing spirit for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by both her parents, Hayzen Turner, Sr., and Lucinda Turner.  Four Sisters, Ora Lee Turner, Dorothy Brown, Arlene Turner, Darleen Young.  Two Brothers, Willie Green Turner, Wiley Carpenter. She leaves to cherish her memories, three loving and supportive children, one daughter, Odethea Turner Nichols, two sons, Willie Earl Turner, and Cornelius Turner.   Four grandchildren, Quinese Nicole Nichols, Wendell Roy Nichols, Jr., Alexis Monique Robinson, and Cornelius Turner, Jr. Two sisters, Hazel Turner Johnson, and Janie (David) George, three brothers, John Turner, Timothy (Peggy) Turner and Hayzen Turner, Jr. Five Great Grandchildren, a host of Nieces, Nephews, other family members and friends.
