Jimmy Jackson Obituary

Jimmy Earl Jackson was born November 29th, 1952 to Add Douglas and Daisy (Dubose) Jackson in Birmingham, Alabama, the youngest of 9 children.

Jimmy was proud of being high school Quarterback at Western Olin High school until his graduation in 1971. He earned a scholarship to Alcorn State University In Lormam, Mississippi. Jimmy served in the U.S. Navy as a Marine Mechanic where he got the opportunity to explore Asia. He earned 2 certificates from Lawson State Community College in Electrical Technology, and Television/ Radio Repair.  He met his beautiful wife Brenda Joyce Flemming in 1969, and their friendship blossomed.

Jimmy was a free spirit, and he often dreamed big. Jimmy was always the life of the party at all social gatherings. He loved music, movies, football, and tinkering with cars. He loved celebrating holidays; either by exercising his mastery of the BBQ grill, putting on fireworks shows, or by creating big Christmas light displays.  Mostly he loved spending time with his grandchildren who referred to him as "Brandaddy", "Fuddy" and "Da Dad". 

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Keishunta (Corey) Robinson, Keneshia (Joseph) Horn, and KeTarra Jackson; grandchildren, De'Ahveyon Williams, Jamie Hopkins, Ava Hopkins, Addison Robinson, Kendall Jackson, and Rhys Horn; brothers, Alfred Jackson, Reginald Jackson; sisters, Annie Pringle, Brenda(Joseph) Davis, Thelma (Walmon) Williams, Barbara Jackson, Oleta (Phillip) Harden; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, and older brother, Lorenza (Rowena) Jackson and sister, Ruby Nell Jackson.
