Larry Gordon Stinson

Larry Gordon Stinson, (a.k.a. “L.G.”) was born on March 11, 1954, to the late Robert & Bernice Stinson, Jr.

Larry was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Brighton, Alabama, under the leadership of Rev. Charles E. Hollingsworth. He was united in Holy Matrimony to a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Cassandra Stinson in 2009.

Larry was preceded in death by one sister: Mrs. Vanessa Ann Osley, three nephews: Demetris, Kyree, Kremel, and a father-in-law: Mr. Joe Brandon.

Larry graduated from Fairfield High School on 1972. He also graduated from Wayne State University, with an Associate Degree in Labor Management. He retired from The Detroit Board of Education, Michigan in 1990.

He leaves to cherish his memory: A devoted and loving wife, Mrs. Cassandra Stinson; two sons; Christopher Pratt of Detroit, Michigan, Antonio Stinson of Birmingham, Alabama. Six Grandchildren; Chris, Jr., Sheldon, Kelsey, Kevin, Krystal and Niya all of Michigan. Five Brothers; Robert Stinson III of Detroit, Michigan, Harold Stinson of Fairfield, Alabama, Eric (Donna) Stinson, Terry Stinson and Hershel (Patricia) Hicks all of Birmingham, Alabama. Two Sisters; Rosalind Davis of Fairfield, Alabama, Mrs. April (Anthony) Carter of St. Augustine, Florida. Grandmother: Mrs. Willie Stinson of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A loving Mother-in-law; Mrs. Janie Brandon of Columbus, Mississippi. Four Brother-in-laws; Joseph (Betina) Brandon, Alexander (Nicole) Brandon, Alfred (Renee) Brandon and Allen (Darcel) Brandon all of Mississippi. Nieces and Nephews; Kena, Keywann, Kylan, Tiffany, Carmelita, Tyrone, Eric, Angie, Clifton, Carlton, Justin, Joshua, Kyler, Dylan, Alexander, Leah, Taylor, Kelly and Allison. A host of Aunts, Great Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. Special Friends; Marlon Files, Sam Emerson, Keilaund Goodwin and Joe Osborne.
