Lenzie Reese, also known as “Kuda” growing up, was born August 29, 1935, eldest son of the late JoAnna Cowans and Joseph Lenzie Reese “Joe” in Fostoria, Alabama. At a very ear;ly age Lenzie and his parents moved to Birmingham, Alabama. Lenzie has two brothers and one sister Alonso Reese who is preceded in death, Robert Reese also known as “Fats” and Eloise Reese who is also preceded in death.
When Lenzie was young his mother JoAnna Cowans passed away. Later on in his teens his father married the late Annie Dove Thomas.
Around the age of 20, Lenzie moved to Michigan where he worked in a factory before moving to Great Neck, NY where he spent the majority of his life. Lenzie was a self employed taxi driver before retiring and started driving a school bus in Manhasset,NY. He enjoyed meeting the different students and joking with them. The parents were very kind and thankful that he took such good care of their children. One of the kids was LL Cool J's son.
In 2007, Lenzie moved back to Birmingham, AL where he lived up until God saw fit to call him home on March 1, 2020.
Lenzie was a proud and sometimes stubborn man who never asked for hands out when in need but had no problems helping others in need. He could be complex at times but you always knew where you stood with him. He had no problem speaking his mind or just sitting back observing.
