Mrs. Lois J. Lawrence Williams was born April 15, 1937 in Lowndes County, Alabama the eldest of six children born to Frank Lawrence, sr. and Ora Belle Stallworth Lawrence. Lois accepted Jesus as her Savior at an early age. She was a member of Lilly Grove Baptist Church and believed in the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ.
Lois married Willie D. Williams on October 1, 1955 and to this union four children were born: Sherri (Roy) Foster, Ora R. Williams, who preceded Lois in death, Wesley (Melissa) Williams and Leslie Williams.
Lois worked as a Nurses Aide, Private Duty Nurse and Daycare Aide and Nanny. In 1992, as a result of a car accident, Lois developed a chronic back condition that followed her the rest of her life. In the summer of 1993, Lois survived a brain aneurysm. She had many bouts with sickness and disease, but God delivered her from them all.
Lois, affectionately called “Nanny” due in part to her grandmotherly qualities and job description, had a way to offer advice, assistance or an ear to hear without judgment. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. We were blessed to have her.
On Friday, June 25, 2021, Lois made the final journey into the great hereafter. She closed her eyes to the hurt, pain and tears of this world and opened them to a heavenly home not made by hands.
She leaves to carry on: her children, Sherri (Roy) Foster, Wesley (Melissa) Williams and Leslie S. Williams; grandchildren, Sheritta Williams, Remicka Williams, Latasha Williams, Brandon Williams, Courtland Williams, Imani Williams and Imari Nalls; great grandchildren, Cymphony, Willie, Ashaanti, Brandon Jr., Sedrix, Khalil, K’Mora and SaMora; other family members and friends.
