Mildred Freeman Obituary

Mildred Ann Grayson, was born to the late Lee Andrew Grayson, Sr. and Annie Lee Grayson in Birmingham, AL on January 5, 1949.  She departed this earthly life on January 26, 2021 at the age of 72 when the Lord embraced her and carried her to eternal rest.

She was educated in the Birmingham school system, and graduated from Lewis Elementary School; Mildred was a 1966 graduate of G.W. Carver High school.  She was a fabulous cook, a graceful host, and was loved by all.  She enjoyed life to the fullest and loved to dance and travel.  She was a friend, confidant and shoulder to lean on for many. Mildred had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. Her helping spirit and jovial laughter will be missed.  We have lost a precious jewel in this earthly realm, but Heaven has indeed gained an Angel.  Though we will miss her dearly, the memories we made with her will forever remain with us and will help console our heavy hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee Andrew Grayson, Sr. and Annie Lee Grayson; her brothers Eric Grayson and Lee Andrew Grayson Jr, and her sister-in-law Veronica (Arlester) Grayson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Katrina (Allen) Trainer, granddaughter, MiKaelah Freeman-whom she loved and adored beyond measure, grandson De’Kembe Trainer, and life partner, Arthur “McKenzie”.  Her devoted sister and best friend, Jo Ann Grayson, sister-in law, Mildred P. Freeman; brothers James (Annette) and Arlester Grayson.  A special nephew that was like a son to her, Derrick (LaShun) Grayson; nephews Christopher Lucas, Marvin and Cedric Freeman, Clifford and Richard Bradford; nieces Nekeya, Arlicia, and Erica Grayson, Kristina Johnson, Leandrea (Rance) Maddox, Yolanda Freeman, and Brendalyn (Roy) Young; grandnieces Deanna, Gabrielle, Arkia, Autumn, and London Grayson; Kaylen and Khloe Frazier, Kailey Johnson, and Alexis Young. Grandnephews, Caleb and Armon Grayson, Rance Maddox III. Special Cousins Anita Watford, Connie and Marsha Grayson; dear friends Amelia McCall and Eleanor “Dee” Nabors, and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
