Mr. Nathan Ellis Lee “Big Boe” was born August 23, 1976, the second child of Bertram White and the late Trice Lee Tyrus . He was raised in the Sherman Heights neighborhood.
Ellis was educated in the Birmingham School System, attending Councill Elementary School and graduating from Ensley Magnet High School. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined St. John CME Church under the Pastorate of Reverend Johnson. He then moved his membership to The Tower Christian Church under the leadership of Pastor Stephon Washington.
Ellis, better known as Big Boe to his family and friends, was a very family oriented person who was the life of the party. He was employed with the Birmingham Public Works Department as a skilled laborer for more than ten years; and as a Security Guard for Sanguard and Dynamic Security until God called him home.
Ellis answered the call to his Heavenly Father late Sunday evening on August 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his mother, Trice Lee Tyrus; grandmother, Ruby Lee Killian; grandfathers, R. D. Killian, James Streeter, Nathaniel White; and daughter, Tunisha McDuffie.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Torinique McDuffe Lee; daughter, Jamika McDuffie; son, Antoine McDuffie; sisters, Tiffine Lee, Corey Lee and Felicia White; brother, Quincy White; father, Bertram White; aunts, Brenda Clay-Davis, Patricia Pruitt (George Tillman) and Toney Robinson; uncles, Ervin Lee (Gwendolyn), Ronald Robinson (Sophia) and Steven Robinson (Gloria); five grandchildren; a host of nieces, great nieces, a great nephew, cousins and a host of very close friends.
