On July 1, 1948, in Birmingham, Alabama the late Robert II and Lois C. Williams welcomed their first born son Robert (Bobby) Williams III. He was educated in the Birmingham City School System, graduating from Ullman High School in 1966. He graduated from Grambling State University where he attended and played football under the historical coach Eddie Robinson.
While at Grambling State, Bobby’s roommates introduced him to the love of his life, Falvie Bryant. They were married on March 21, 1968 and remained married for forty-nine years. Under this union, two children were born.
In 1971, Robert Williams III was signed as a free agent Linebacker to the NFL Pittsburgh Steelers.
Robert Williams III was employed at General Motors for 35 years, from which he retired to enjoy the retirement life.
Bobby accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. He was baptized at Bethel Baptist Southside, where he served for years. He later joined Sardis Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for many years. Later in life, he attended Church of Highland with his brother every Sunday. He always served the Lord even with his decline in health.
