Robert Allen Willis, 70, of Birmingham, AL passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Grandview Medical Center.
Robert was born on September 16, 1950 in Forest, MS to William and Myrtis Willis. He attended Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana where he spent most of his young adult life. Robert relocated to Birmingham, AL, where he accepted Christ into his life in 1983 as a member of Twenty-third Street Baptist Church of Ensley.
He worked very hard as a long haul truck driver for many years earning him the nickname of “Birmingham Bob”. Robert loved people and always sought to help them whenever he could. His loyalty to his family and kindness to his friends shall be a living memorial to his life.
Robert is preceded in death by: his loving parents and three brothers: Herbert Willis, Steve Willis and Anthony Willis of Gary, Indiana. Three grandchildren, Briana Willis, DeShelon Hicks and Emmanuel Duncan; one great grandchild, Shaqtari Kimp.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Robert Willis, Jr. (Tomka) of Indianapolis, and four daughters, Michelle Willis (Shaun) of Indianapolis, Robin Willis (Craig) of Indianapolis, Tishana Morris of Nashville, TN and Marlesa Willis of Birmingham, Alabama. Twenty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
