Obituary

Mr. Roderick James Gray was born to the late Charles Gray and Leila M. Burke.

He confessed Christ at an early age.

He attended Tuxedo Elementary and Western Olin High School.  Roderick served in the United States Navy from July 7th, 1969, to July 6th, 1975, were he received an honorable discharge for his service.  He was then employed with U.S. Steel and retired after 38 years of service.

Affectionally known as GD by his grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him dearly.  Also known as Preacher which all his friends and family called him, he loved his family, friends and loved having fun. 

Roderick was proceeded in death by his: Father Charles Gray, Daughter Valicia Jackson, and his Mother Leila M. Burke.

Memories of his life will be forever cherished by his loving and devoted wife Joyce Gray of Birmingham Al. Daughter Charnita Jackson of Birmingham Al. Son Daryl Jackson of Birmingham Al. Sister Glynn Huey Jones. Four grandchildren, Five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
