Obituary

Shameka “Meekie” Latrice Williams was born on November 2, 1981 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Eddie Mae and Winston Lamar Williams. She confessed to Christ early in life at Ebenezer A.M.E Zion Church.

Shameka attended George Washington Carver High School (Class of 2000) in Montgomery, Alabama where she played clarinet in the George Washington Carver Marching Wolverines Band while participating in numerous activities in school, community, and church. She continued her education to Florida A&M University in the School of Business where she majored in International Business. During her time at FAMU, she interned with Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in Morristown, New Jersey. Upon graduating from FAMU in Spring of 2004, she continued her association with Pfizer as a permanent employee where she excelled to Senior Territory Manager. After many years of working for Pfizer, Shameka became employed with Johnson & Johnson as Senior Sales Representative Neurodegeneration/Multiple Sclerosis Gaithersburg Territory. Upon leaving Johnson & Johnson, she was currently employed with AstraZeneca as Executive Sales Specialist with the Respiratory and Immunology Division.

Meekie was God-sent, vibrant, aggressive, unique, hard-working, intelligent, full of life, and she loved her family and friends (especially her brother/Carlos and nephew/Mauriel).  She was very protective of the people she loved. During her time as an adult, she was able to make an impact on numerous amount of people in many ways. She always felt she had to take care of everyone she loved in several ways. This was instilled in her by her mother who also loved people and she was a true servant of God.  Upon being eternally grateful, Meekie was afforded the pleasure of traveling to multiple countries throughout her career and she always took her brother with her.
