William Howard Reed, Jr., 52, of Birmingham, AL, departed this life on February 20, 2021. He was on born September 20, 1968, to the union of William Howard Reed and Mary Helen Williams Reed. He was preceded in death by his mother. He leaves to cherish his memory: three children, Alyssa Shantrice (Bobby) Williams, Shaquille Matthews and Tristan Campbell, all of Birmingham; grandchildren, Kobe, Kori, King and Taylor; special and devoted aunts, Ruth “Pat” Evans, Larcene “Honey” (Carl) Bowers, and Annie Jewel Williams, all of Birmingham; uncles, Israel “Bull” Williams of Aurora, Illinois and Charlie Williams of Birmingham; cousins raised like siblings, Melissa (Terry) Smiley and Kevin Evans, and a host of other cousins and friends.
Jr. Reed, as he was affectionately called, confessed Christ at an early age at Lilly Grove Baptist Church of Ensley where he was a faithful member for many years. He later joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
He was a proud graduate of Jackson-Olin High School’s Class of 1986. He worked many years providing delivery services and in other fields until he was no longer physically able to work. He was a fun-loving guy who was loved by many. His funeral services will be held at Kirksey’s Mortuary on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at noon and visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 4 to 6 pm at Kirksey’s Mortuary, located at 3500 Avenue I, Birmingham, AL.
